The cars, compared

Innova Crysta or Innova Hycross.

The same name on the tailgate; a different car to sit in. Which one the house would send you, and when.

They share a name and nothing else that matters to a guest. One is a diesel that has carried Mumbai for a decade; the other is a hybrid that goes quiet at every signal. The house keeps both because the city asks for both.

The honest verdict

Take the CrystaWhen the road is uncertain, the lane may flood, or the cases outnumber the guests. It is the house’s Signature for a reason: it does everything, and it does the airport best.
Take the HycrossWhen you will work, read or sleep in the car; when the day is long; when a diesel’s hum at a signal is one more thing you would rather not hear.
EitherFor four guests across the city on an ordinary day. Say no preference and the house sends whichever is nearer the hour.

Both are Signature and Premium on the rate card; the difference between the two figures is small, and the house will tell you when it is not worth paying.

Questions guests ask

Is the Innova Hycross better than the Crysta for hire?
Quieter and softer, yes — a hybrid that is silent at a signal. The Crysta is firmer, taller and better on a broken or flooded road. Neither is better; they answer different days.
Which seats more?
The same: four guests behind the sarathi with three large cases. For six guests the house sends the Kia Carnival.
Which is the house’s choice for the airport?
The Crysta, by habit — the cases go in easily and the high seat suits a tired arrival. The Hycross if you have asked for quiet.
