Families

A child seat, and a stroller in the boot.

For parents landing at Mumbai with a sleeping toddler and three bags: the seat already fitted, the stroller unfolded at the kerb, and nobody carrying a child through the car park.

I

The right seat, fitted before the car leaves

Rear-facing for a baby, forward-facing for a toddler, a booster for a child to about 36 kg — chosen by the age you tap on the reservation, fitted and checked before the car leaves for you. At no charge.

II

A stroller in the boot

For a little one who walks part of the way: a light, one-hand-fold travel stroller with a sun canopy and a five-point harness, unfolded at the kerb by your sarathi. Cleaned and sealed after every family. At no charge.

III

Two seats, three seats

Twins, siblings, cousins: say how many and each child's age, and the house sends a car where every seat fits properly — not one squeezed in.

IV

The things a parent forgets

Wipes, tissues, a muslin, cold water and a bottle of hot water for a feed, the cabin kept at the temperature you name. A stop whenever a little one needs one.

The law, plainly

India’s Motor Vehicles Act (section 194B) asks that a child under fourteen be secured by a safety belt or a child restraint. The house does not carry a small child on a lap, and a child does not ride in the front seat.

Under one yearA rear-facing seat, to about 13 kg.
One to fourRear-facing for as long as the seat allows, then forward-facing, about 9–18 kg.
Four to twelveA booster, about 15–36 kg, with the car’s own belt.
Over twelveThe car’s own belt, in the cabin behind.

Reserve with a child seatTap each child’s age on the reservation; the seat follows from it.

Questions guests ask

Do you provide child seats in Mumbai?
Yes — rear-facing, forward-facing and booster seats, fitted and checked before the car leaves, at no charge. Tap each child’s age on the reservation and the house chooses the seat.
Can I have a stroller at the airport?
Yes. A light travel stroller rides in the boot on request, unfolded at the kerb by your sarathi and cleaned and sealed after every family, at no charge.
Is a child seat required by law in India?
The Motor Vehicles Act (section 194B) asks that a child under fourteen be secured by a safety belt or a child restraint. The house always uses a seat suited to the child’s age and never carries a small child on a lap.
