Some guests ask for a car whose number means something: 0001 for a chairman, 7777 for a wedding, the bride's birth date for her entry. The house looks for one among its partners' cars, and tells you plainly whether it has found it.
A car's own registration number, issued by the RTO — a choice number taken when the car was registered: 0001, 0786, 7777, 9999, a year, a date. The house cannot change a number; it can only find a car that already carries one.
A styled plate — numbers bent into a name, a lettering that is not the standard one, a plate without its hologram. Every vehicle in India carries a high-security registration plate in the standard form; anything else is an offence, and a car the house would not put a guest in.
Nothing. A distinctive number is a courtesy where a partner car carries one on the day; it never changes the written figure. Where a particular number matters more than the car, say so, and the house tells you which cars carry it.
On the reservation form, choose Marque and switch on A distinctive number; or write the number you have in mind in the note. For a wedding, give the house a week: it looks among its partners' cars and tells you in writing what it has found, with a photograph of the car and its plate, before anything is held.
Only commercial plates. Whatever its number, a car that carries a guest of the house is on commercial plates, with its permit, insurance and fitness certificate seen. A private car with a famous number is still a private car, and the house does not send one.
