By arrangement · Bentley Flying Spur

The Flying Spur, arranged.

A Bentley is the car for a guest who likes the drive to feel like something — the long bonnet, the weight, the quiet that is somehow different from a Mercedes' quiet. The Flying Spur is the four-door Bentley, and the house proposes it for an evening, a reception, or a guest who has asked for a Bentley and would rather not explain why.

I

Who sits where

Two in the rear in deep individual seats; three for a short journey. Your sarathi in front beside the car's chauffeur.

II

Luggage

Two large cases and two cabin bags.

III

The occasion

A reception; a long evening across the city; a guest who asked for a Bentley; a wedding where the groom's car should answer the bride's.

In the house's hands

A current Flying Spur, confirmed with photographs before anything is held; the cabin set as you ask; a sarathi who knows the difference between a car that is driven and a car that is driven in.

By arrangement is the house's phrase for a car it does not keep on call and will not pretend to. Thirty days lets the house find the right one, see its registration, its insurance and the permission that lets it carry a guest that day, meet the chauffeur who comes with it, and send you photographs of the exact car before anything is held. A deposit holds the car; the balance is settled seventy-two hours before the journey, as set out in your written confirmation. Your sarathi rides with you; the car's own chauffeur drives.

The figure

Written for the occasion — the car, its chauffeur, your sarathi, fuel, tolls, parking and GST in one line — once the house has found the car and seen it. There is no rate card for a car like this, because the day and the car decide; what is written does not move. If thirty days is not what you have, say so: the house tells you plainly what is possible, and never sends something else and hopes.

If the date is close

Tell the house what you have in mind and when. Where the car cannot be found in time, the house says so at once and proposes the nearest thing it can stand behind — a Bentayga, or a Mercedes-Maybach, where a Flying Spur cannot be had — written at the Marque figure, with the same sarathi and the same care.

Ask the house for the SpurChoose Marque, name the car, give the date. The house replies in writing.

Questions guests ask

Can I hire a Bentley with a driver in Mumbai?
By arrangement, yes: the house finds the car for your date, sees its papers, sends photographs and writes the figure. Thirty days is the honest notice.
Flying Spur or Bentayga?
The Flying Spur is the sedan — lower, quieter, the car for an evening. The Bentayga is the SUV — height and presence, the car for a gate or a bad road. The house will tell you which can be had for your date.
Can the Bentley be dressed for a wedding?
With fresh flowers in your colours, by the house's own hands, the morning of the journey.
