BOM ↔ NMIA

Two airports, one car, nothing to work out.

Mumbai now has two airports and a growing number of journeys that need both: a domestic arrival at Terminal 1 and an international departure from Navi Mumbai, or the reverse. The road between them is an hour and a quarter on a good day and more than two in the evening, and it runs over the Atal Setu, where there is no stopping to think. The house makes it one journey: met at the first airport, delivered to the second, both flights watched, the connection time judged by someone who does this road.

I

The road

From CSMIA, the Western Express Highway or the Eastern Express Highway to the Eastern Freeway, the Atal Setu across the harbour, and the new approach roads to Navi Mumbai Airport at Ulwe — roughly fifty to sixty kilometres, seventy minutes at dawn, two hours and more at the evening peak. The house writes the pickup time for the connection you actually have.

II

Both flights, watched

The house tracks the arriving flight and the departing one. If the first is late, the car waits (ninety minutes domestic, two hours international, complimentary); if the connection becomes tight, the house tells you before you land what is still possible.

III

Inside the figure

The car, your sarathi, fuel, the Atal Setu toll and every other, parking at both airports, GST. Nothing on the road, nothing at a plaza, nothing at either kerb.

The wait is inside the figure ninety minutes after a domestic landing, two full hours after an international one, counted from the moment the aircraft reaches the gate; the flight tracked from the city it leaves; the airport parking for the whole of that wait paid by the house. How the house waits →

How much time to leave

For an international departure from Navi Mumbai after a domestic arrival at CSMIA, the house would not plan on less than five hours between landing and take-off; four is possible with hand luggage and a morning road; less than that, the house says so plainly rather than promise it. For the reverse — an international arrival at NMIA and a domestic departure from CSMIA — add the immigration hour.

Which car

The Innova Hycross hybrid for one to three guests and their cases; the Carnival for a family; a Marque car for a guest who should arrive at the second airport as he left the first. The figures are on the rate card. See also the Navi Mumbai Airport page.

Inside every written figure: the car, your sarathi, fuel, every toll, parking at both ends and GST. Nothing is added on the day, and no meter runs.

Reserve the airport-to-airport carBoth flight numbers. The house writes the pickup time and the figure.
